  • Criminal responsibility for unlawful activities with regard to legal entities is considered to be a matter of extreme controversy and complicity.
    In the past decades as a result of a shift to a market economy the Russian society tends to increasingly discuss and argue about crime responsibility related issues for the harm caused by legal entities to individual interests as well as to the society and the state. The analysis of operational investigations demonstrates that legal entities commit crimes of different gravity however criminal proceedings are taken against a natural person acting as a manager ex-officio.
    The article examines imposing criminal sanctions against legal entities from the view point of operational investigations. The authors draw a conclusion that in the current situation it is high time to impose criminal sanctions against legal entities.
