  • The article focuses on the study of the development of foreign economic relations within EAEU as a factor of regional economic security. It is stressed upon that increasing importance has been attached to customs control and customs clearance issues dealing with simplification of the procedures in the course of having the goods conveyed across the customs boarder. The relevance of the article stems from the author's aim to prove that customs control measures should be efficient yet not to threaten economic security of the state.
    The article describes processes of modernization and simplification of customs control and customs clearance procedures with the Northwestern Federal District taken as an example. It provides a comprehensive analysis of NWFD export distribution among basic customers-importers whereby a relevant key finding is introduced that there is a positive tendency of the ongoing increase in both import and export operations.
