Theoretical Reasoning of Realization of Public Private Partnership for the Development of Sports and Entertainment Services

The concept of sports and entertainment services as a specific kind of social and economic activity is studied in the article. We identify the peculiarities of this kind of services and functions of the state and commercial organizations in supplying such services. We provide theoretical reasoning of realization of public private partnership in development of sports and entertainment services in Russia.

  • Sports and entertainment service is a specific type of social and economic activity characterized by high level of social orientation, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, by high profitability. This type of activity is defined as a complex of sports and entertainment events organization services. The growth of this service sector, taking into account its large commercial potential in the period of making use of market mechanisms in the development of sports in Russia, needs further analysis and application of the scientific approach. This is the reason for marking out this type of service as well as for giving proof of the necessity of this study. In addition, the readiness of the topic along with practical difficulties being faced in the course of forming public private partnership in this area (taking into account that the most important international sports events will be held in Russia in coming years) make the research issue especially topical. The article examines prerequisites for marking out sports and entertainment service, its specific features, identifies areas of responsibility of the state and commercial organizations, their functions in providing this service. It provides theoretical reasoning of the need to implement public private partnership for the effective development of sports and entertainment services.
