  • The urgency of the study is explained by increasing interest towards technological innovative tendency shown in Russia and fast-developing world-wide which is aimed at reforming electric power industry on the basis of Smart grid concept, called active adaptive or “intelligent network” in Russia. The objective of the present article is to carry out morphological analysis of existing networking devices and facilities in order to reveal the ones meeting requirements of the new networking concept. While studying the author would use such methods as morphological analysis, classification, grouping, as well as the systems approaches to the research of smart grid networking in electric power industry.
    The author has examined existing technical devices and carried out their functional morphological analysis. On the basis of the analysis by means of morphological arraying principle different implementation alternatives have been considered with the conclusion being made on the necessity to create an optimal engineering solution making methodology.
