  • Controlling as a management system support concept is based on a properly designed data gathering, processing, analysis and reporting system. One of the self-evident advantages of the use of controlling by tourism industry businesses is their ability to recognize threats as per small signals from outside with the onward collection of relevant information. Thus the said informational system is aimed at gaining such strategic objects as choosing basic strategies of development, defining the whole set of indicators under control and monitoring targets. All of the above has determined the relevance of the research in current business environment.
    The article gives brief description of each particular stage of the control exercised in the course of implementation of the business process including preliminary, follow-up, running and post factum stage. The author defines the goals and specifies the tools of controlling and presents general recommendations with regard to designing an operational control system within the business, determines general requirements to tourism business related information. In the course of the study the author has used such methods as comparative analysis, synthesis, classification as well as systems approach.
