  • The article analyses modern trends in the Russian labour market resulted from changes in the structure of social and labour relations particularly within relations between an employer and employees. In modern society there is a growing drive for implementation of non-standard forms of employment due to ongoing economy digitalization processes. The paper provides analyses of positive and negative sides of freelance with regard to both employer and freelancers themselves.
    The study analyses the impact of flexible forms of employment in IT technologies on the processes ensuring information and economic security of the businesses. According to the author advisability of the use of virtual workplaces for specialists engaged in IT systems and technologies should be defined by an employer on the basis of a number of factors under the study hereof. The article justifies the linkage between freelancers activity in Russia with the shadow economy through the spread and influence of informal employment on economy informalization by its partial transfer to the shadow sector.
    The author concludes with a proposal to ensure the way out of this situation through legalization of informal sector.
