  • The article is dedicated to the relevant issue of formatting digital forensics. The computerization of justice has become a modern trend both in practice and in legal science while computer and information technology serve as an important tool in criminal proceedings. To date, however the issue of the conceptual apparatus, the place of digital technologies in the existing system of criminology remains controversial. The authors formulate key approaches and examine the system, as well as methodology and possible directions for the formation of digital forensic. Regarding the place of "digital criminology" in the system of traditional criminology, the authors are leaning towards a separate general methodological section "Digital Forensics".
