We substantiate the correlation between the tasks of intellectual property management and the priorities of strategic innovative development of the Russian Federation under numerous challenges and sanctions restrictions. We reveal the trends, determine the patterns and prospects of managing the intellectual property. The conclusions of the study are based on an analysis of global and Russian dynamics of patent and applicant activity, reflecting the state and prospects of innovation activity.
