  • We look at peculiar features of accommodation facilities classification. Having studied the normative-legal base of classification as well as the data of tourist portals concerning the types of accommodation facilities, we reveal significant discrepancies in the distinguished types of the facilities in question. We suggest streamlining the types of unclassifiable accommodation facilities by means of voluntary certification based on the requirements of professional public organizations and demonstrate it by the example of Leningrad region. The need to consider the requirements of sustainable development when creating such requirements is highlighted.
